Hyoyeon DWTS Thing.

This is a post made at hallyu8.com at the SNSD thread by a member named hazee. It explains what had happened pretty well…

I’m going to go ahead and say I’m not sorry for the following post.

I’m not sorry for being “butthurt” I’m not sorry for being “emotional” I’m not sorry for the “drama” and I’m not sorry for “another Hyohunnie rant” … so anyone who doesn’t care, skip over this but I’m not writing this for you anyway and it doesn’t matter anyway if you read it or not. I’m writing this in the desperate hope that KSONE actually lurk this thread and will see it.

I wanted to get a message out loud and clear — you underestimate Hyoyeon and how much of an affect she’s had within the ever expanding, international fandom.
You don’t treat her as well as the other members, as a fandom/as a whole, and you don’t respect her as well as the other members. It is obvious and it is SAD.
You don’t treat her as well.
You just dont.
Your philosophy of OT9, which we as an international fandom learned from YOU ALL and of which we now PREACH, is constantly jaded in my eyes but now I can’t ignore that anymore.

OT9 only means something to me if it is directly from SNSD’s mouths but if a KSONE has something to say on it, I can’t take it seriously anymore.

Although, let’s get this clear, I can’t personally speak for anyone else so this is all me right now based off what I’ve observed.
I don’t lie that I have a bias that filters most of these things out of my fingers, onto the keyboard and into a random international forum. But something has to be said, even as this will be buried in the pages of a quickly moving thread. Love me, hate me, love Hyo, hate Hyo, I don’t care.

I don’t care if people don’t like Hyoyeon but if in her own fandom, SONE who preach OT9 disrespect her like other people do (people who call her HyORC or otherwise), then I have to say something.
I’m not writing this even for the other Hyohunnies who can speak for themselves.
I’m writing this for everything that Hyoyeon has inspired within, everything that has made me happier and has made me want to work harder for myself, to find what makes me happy in life. For everything she’s inspired in me to even bother with the rest of SNSD and the rest of SONE fandom even though she doesn’t get the same attention or treatment as the other members.

I have to say all of this for her. At the least.

I’m not saying all KSONE are like this. Generalization is bad but a large majority of KSONE can be counted towards this.

The reason for concern and for this post:

For those of you who don’t know, Queen of Space is the new Hyoyeon fan photographer that stepped up after YourSide stepped down surrounded by massive scandals over not fulfilling money ordered goods.

She, Queen of Space, has regularly visited the Dancing With The Stars recording to get images of Hyoyeon.
This is something she had to say (within multiple tweets) on twitter:

It’s not like you had to apply to get in, there was a designated fan section & you still didnt come? They set up a section right in front of Hyoyeon (to see), but no one came! It’s really outrageous of me to tweet such a thing, but please just once, think of Hyoyeon. Do you think of her as a stranger or do you really not care at all? Your cosplay (pretending) as a fan of all [9] is really impressive!

Some speculation on Fany’s appearance while she was obviously in the middle of Music Bank recording as well:

Could be coincidence, could not … ultimately what I noticed is not only would Fany be in the middle of recording for Music Bank when Hyo was recording her performance, but Fany is also in her Music Bank outfit @ Hyo’s performance.
DWTS is recorded earlier in the day so both recording times overlap. Soshi usually DO NOT visit one another’s sets if they are also currently working on something else. Which is more astonishing that Fany would leave a MUSIC BANK recording of all things going on and she decided to randomly leave it JUST to watch Hyo’s performance, to make it on camera to show support …

Fany literally only showed up for Hyo’s performance further indicating that she was very busy with Music Bank and had to get back.

But WHY would she randomly show up if she could of formally made an appearance later when TTS promotions ended and DWTS promotions continued longer?

I honestly feel that Hyo made a comment or her manager or someone about how her designated fan area was not well-attended. In other words, expressing her concerns in some way or another and Fany being baller showed up to support Hyo.

So what is the issue?

Why is this a big deal?
Why when things could be worse? She could’ve never been on the show?

It’s a big deal because things like this KEEPS ON HAPPENING with her.

I recently downloaded a large SNSD picture archive via Moonsoshi9 from a Chinese website.
MASSIVE amounts of pics from many events expanding from the very late 2010 to late 2011 — think of every official fan taken picture released, it’s all there. And I’m scanning through these all, looking at the hard work and money that KSONE have spent, at the beautiful women who worked so hard for what they have now.

But I keep on returning to the same feelings all Hyohunnies have — the very few pictures that Hyo gets.
I looked in a folder of around 80 pictures and there were only 2 pictures of her while the rest were equally represented. One of which is just her in the side. A bunch of pictures of which she is literally BLOCKED OUT by a BLACK BOX.

Hyoyeon has a HUGE part in why SNSD is successful as they are today. International SONE have a huge part of why SNSD is now Korea’s national girl group — you honestly think they’d be named that if they weren’t featured all over the world? Does anyone really think that the news would bother with them like they do if SNSD hadn’t made it huge in Japan and the rest of the world as a result?

Hyoyeon is largely popular OUTSIDE of South Korea and that also has played a big part of the appeal of SNSD to international audiences — you don’t think she’s as important as other members then you are missing a large chunk of why SNSD is as popular as they are right now.

OT9 OT9 OT9 …

It grates.
It grates after awhile and you might sneer at me being another mopey Hyohunnie but THERE IS A REASON FOR IT. It’s one thing if SNSD wasn’t as huge as they are, didn’t have the large fandom in Korea and out of Korea that they have, but THERE IS NO EXCUSE not to EQUALLY represent each member of OT9 since that is YOUR philosophy that you jam down everybody’s throats.
There is absolutely no EXCUSE.

And then you have the recent fiasco between KSONEs being mad at iSONEs with the release of TTS’s new album.
They get pissed at us international SONEs because we might be illegaly downloading and therefore not supporting SNSD.

You mean … like I did for TTS even though both Fany and Taeyeon were the LAST members for me to start liking, to start seeing as amazing human beings. Even though TTS are NOT my bias at all?! That it doesn’t matter since they are SNSD and I want to support them all as much as possible?

Why don’t you work on equally supporting SNSD while we work on it as well?
Why don’t you release one more picture of Hyoyeon?
Why not, in future album released, you release the images of Hyoyeon along with the rest of the other girls’ images? Like with the Mr Taxi release when her individual Mr Taxi photocard wasn’t scanned with the other members — it didn’t take hours, it didn’t take days, it took WEEKS for someone to BOTHER scanning hers and sharing it on the internet.
Why don’t you work on that?
Work on supporting all of SNSD equally?

Following KPOP should be fun. It should be something to celebrate and it should be something where if anything, you find peace within your own fandom.
I’m tired of being upset by this. I’m tired of swallowing the OT9 preachiness when it obviously doesn’t exist in all of the fandom that counts itself as SONE.
I’m tired of people complaing about Hyohunnies complaining when Hyohunnies are sick of HAVING SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT.

I’m tired of being lectured by KSONE when they have bias AGAINST one of SNSD’s own members.

No this doesn’t mean everyone should be a Hyohunnie and falling over themselves to show support …

… but don’t you DARE look down on International SONE when you can’t even fairly live up to your own SONE, OT9 hype.
